Getting Through Your Holidays

December is one of the hardest month of the year for keeping up the healthy lifestyle you worked hard to put in place.

That's a lot of time spent celebrating with your family and friends, people who are not necessarily living the same way you are.

Is that an occasion to switch back to bad habits???

IF YOU'RE NOT SURE OF YOUR ANSWER, THE GOOD ONE WAS NO!

You can get through all of it, you just need to know the keys.

N°1: Don't Forget your Goals

If you allow yourself to forget what you want to achieve, you will take a step back. Just remind yourself twice a day what are your goals.

N°2: Don't Panic

If you're invited, you don't have to eat everything in large portions. You can limit fatty things politely, and keep smaller portions than usual. If you're afraid to eat too many calories, stay to stuff you know: VEGGIES and MEAT. Avoid carbohydrates if you can to stay safe in your mind.

N°3: DO NOT MESS UP WITH YOUR METABOLISM

I think this is the most important rule you want to follow if you don't want to GAIN FAT during the holidays: eat every 2-3 hours, without skipping any meal. In particular breakfast and snacks.
You can switch to lighter options, but not eating will make you store even more of bad stuffs you'll eat during the parties.

N°4: One treat

You can indulge yourself with one treat, once a day. That will not stop your progress. The main point is to accept the idea that some things have to be out of control in order for you to be in control.

N°5: No alcohol

You are not forced to drink alcohol, specially while you know how many calories there is in it! Plus, it will play with your insuline level and you don't want that, it will create cravings. If you want to drink one, ok, two might not be such a good idea.

N°6: Snack before your parties

If you eat a few almonds, or some protein shake before your parties, you will not jump on everything little treat that will be there. You might think you won't be able to resist, but if you are not hungry, it will be less tempting.
